Today I spent the morning on the beach, I did what a lot of cariocas do and got there at 7am, (I’m still on Indian time), until I had to check out of my room and go to the airport for my flight to Iguacu. Because it’s autumn here the beach seems to take ages to wake up, a mist hangs around until the sun burns it off, this doesn’t stop people arriving here early in the morning though.
When I landed at the airport it was dark and raining, the first rain I’ve seen since I started my trip. My driver/guide met me and we then had to cross the border to Argentina as this is where the lodge I am staying in is . The lodge is in the jungle, however this does not mean I’m staying in a shack, my room is lovely and the restaurant food is delicious.
