Had a quick look around a sculpture park that is a few minutes walk from the hotel before my guide arrived this morning to do a tour of the city.
Santiago has some interesting architecture, and there’s a spot which marks the centre of the city. The Incas fled here when the Spanish invaded Peru and this is recognised by the odd sculpture, I’ve taken a photo of my favourite.
We went to a fish market which according to National Geographic is the fifth best fish market in the world, and to mark this I took some photos of dead fish.
I visited a couple of old churches and a mural painted to celebrate International Women’s Day and that was Santiago done.
We then drove to Valparaiso, where I am staying in this rather lovely hotel.
I have an amazing view of the city from my balcony.
It’s very quirky here, lots of street art and the houses are painted bright colours.
I went for a walk and had a late lunch at a restaurant with a view over the city.
