It was a five minute walk to the ferry terminal this morning, for the ride over to Caye Caulker. Not the most pleasant of experiences, lots of people in a small, uncomfortable, hot, grubby, boat but it got me to the island. I didn’t think there were any vehicles on the island but there are loads of golf carts, which serve as taxis, so I got one to the hotel.
The hotel is yards from the beach, actually everything here is just yards from the beach.
The island is beautiful and this weekend it’s the Lobster Fest, the reason I came here.
I had a wander around and then had lobster for lunch, delicious, it was happy hour so I got two cocktails for the price of one.
There’s a party atmosphere on this little place and the smell of barbeques filled the air.
Once the sun set a steel band kicked things off before the DJ came on.
