I took the tourist bus tour of Merida this morning, the hop on hop off buses are only in Spanish so I got on this rather odd vehicle. It did a non stop circuit of the interesting places with a guide providing information. I wasn’t overly impressed with a twenty minute stop at a shopping mall, though I did get a good overview of Merida.
There are lots of green spaces here or little squares/plazas, which either have seating or restaurants or cafes, there is also a main park too.
I saw these pretty trees all around Merida, I like them.
This interesting modern monument occupies a roundabout so it’s a bit tricky taking photos as one had to cross the roads a lot, and they are busy and there are no crossings.
This is a selection of the buildings I saw on the tour.
I had a wander around the main plaza after supper and although it’s not a great photo the cathedral looked pretty lit up. I also popped into the Palacio de Gobierno, which has some interesting murals.
