Time for some urban art this week, this selection has come from all over the city. The Iberian Lynx, by Bordallo II, and Rizoma by Antony Gormley, are situated in the Park of the Nations, Parque das Nacoes. The Mother and Child sits in Jardim Amália Rodrigues.
The project of Faces in the Blue Wall was a joint initiative between the Centro Hospitalar Psiquiátrico de Lisboa and the Urban Art Gallery of the City Council, started in 2012 and concluded in 2015. Drawing attention to mental health issues, which can affect anyone regardless of their ethnicity, culture or economic status. A total of 77 paintings were created by over 60 artists. All the artists involved in the project had to produce a piece of work on the theme of ‘the face’ and use a blue background.
